Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) is a joint venture between GAIL, British Gas and Government of Maharashtra with a vision to provide safe, efficient, reliable and affordable Piped Natural Gas (PNG) direct to over 6,00,000 homes in the city of Mumbai. The current customer base of MGL includes over 3,85,000+ domestic, 45 industrial and 700 hotels/small commercial consumers with turnover of over Rs. 6 Billion. MGL's Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) powers 56000 taxi's, 1,27,479 auto rickshaws, 46 BEST buses across the city of Mumbai through its network of 136 CNG stations. MGL has 300 employee base across various functional departments.

MGL's plan to bring about integration across the organization by implementing SAP went successful on 15th Dec 2008. The various IS Utility modules implemented are DM, Billing and Invoicing, CCS and FICA. The various R/3 modules implemented are PM, PS, MM, QM, CIN, SD, FI, CO, HR and Payroll. MGL has appointed Wipro InfoTech as the implementation partner.
