Brihanmumbai Electric Supply & Transport Undertaking is one of the three suppliers of electricity in Mumbai, covering a small yet densely populated area. BEST Undertaking covers South Mumbai from Colaba to Mahim/Sion. The two other suppliers are BSES Ltd and MSEB.
The ERP implementation in BEST is with the objective of converting its existing software system of billing into SAP ISU. This ISU implementation will have the additional features like AMR, camera based meter reading etc.
BEST SAP ISU implementation is a six year project. The project is currently in its implementation phase and the project competition is expected to be in October 2008.The implementation phase will be completed in the first year. The next 5 years will be the supports and maintenance.
